The Allard Chrysler Action Group (ACAG) and Lucas Oil Top Fuel drag racing team F&A Racing announced further sponsorship to help with the restoration of Europe´s first dragster - Sydney Allard´s brainchild the 1961 Allard Chrysler owned by the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu.

F&A Racing is the project´s largest sponsor and first became involved in 2010. ACAG Chairman Brian Taylor said,

"F&A Racing had a difficult start to their racing year but they managed to get to all rounds of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship visiting Sweden, Finland and Germany as well as the UK. They achieved a best 2012 elapsed time of 4.12 seconds for the standing start 1000 foot strip recorded at the European Finals held at Santa Pod Raceway in September. Not too dusty for their first year.

But in October they also managed to send the ACAG a further sponsorship cheque for £5000 taking their total support into five figures. This fantastic source of funds is crucial to completing the restoration project - particularly as we approach the final processes of the task. Thanks to all the F&A Racing Team for such a fabulous contribution. This comes from the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu as well as the Allard Chrysler Action Group".

Chris Andrews said.

"Our sponsors know that a percentage of all the monies they give to us for the Lucas Oil Top Fuel dragster will go to restoring Europe´s first dragster - an exciting and important project that is close to our hearts. To do this sort of work properly is not cheap and I know that all those working on the car do so willingly but at no mean personal cost financially. It´s not just time and expertise that they give and we are pleased to help them achieve this task by sharing our sponsorship with them. It was great to see the cars side by side at the Chelsea AutoLegends show earlier this year and it will be very exciting to get them side by side again at Beaulieu next May for the first joint fire-up. The Allard will be complete at that time and I can´t wait to see the finished product".
