ANOTHER WEEKEND OF ACTION

The I-FLY JK YAMAHA RACING TEAM had another fruitful weekend both in the UK Arenacross last Saturday night in Sheffield and today (Sunday) in Italy in Ottobiano.

In the Pro-Lite MX2 class in the UK Arenacross, Yannis Irsuti consolodated his lead in the championship with a win in his first moto and a very good third spot in moto-two after he hit the ground hard on the first lap. With one more round to go, the young French rider is on top form and is looking forward to the final encounter in Wembley next Saturday.

Jay Wilson and Romain Biela fought hard in the Pro-Open class and while our other French teamster Romain failed to make the final in Sheffield, Autralian import grew stronger as the evening progressed and took a great second in his second heat race and battles to 5th in the final after a fall on lap one.

With the outdoor season creeping slowly upon us... Ryan Houghton has been riding, testing and training in Italy for the past month and the fruits of his work showed today in the second round of the Italian Championship held at the Ottobiano "sand-pit" near Milan. After a strong qualifying session resulting in 15th place, The young Essex MX1 racer was holding a fantastic 13th place with only 5 minutes remaining in the once-again GP star-sudded MX1 line-up when the the sand and then heat took its toll on the motor and caused Ryan to pull out.

Ryan commented... "Of course I am disappointed not to have finished the race but I was riding well and felt strong throughout. I didn`t have the best of starts but came through from around 22nd on the first lap, up to 13th place and I was continuing to move forward, so overall I am pleased. We have been working hard on the set-up of the bike particularly this last week and it is all coming together at the right time".

Next weekend is the final round of the UK Arenacross Championship at Wembley Arena where once again Romain, Jay and Yannis will be in action. Ryan H will be back in the UK after his trip abroad and will begin preparation specifically for his first UK outdoor race which will be in the UK MX Nationals up at Doncaster Fat Cat Raceway on the 4th and 5th of March.

As always, we couldn`t do this job without all our sponsors and supporters and this week, like most of the past few weeks, special thanks go out to those in our team who have dropped everything to accommodate us and our riders and help to make this "appear" to be easy and comfortable

We have a great team for 2017!
