The importance of using the right oil

With the increased use of Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) in modern engines, using the right oil has become vital to ensure the DPF system runs correctly and to avoid blockages and potential serious damage to the engine. By not using C3/A5/B5 specification oil also known as low/mid SAPS oils, there is an increased risk of carbon (soot) building up and blocking the flow of the Diesel Particulate Filters causing a loss in performance and overheating of the engine. A warning light or message will indicate the DPF is full. Having the filter removed and cleaned can cost from £300 upwards, if the filter cannot be cleaned a replacement will cost up to £2000!!!

Lucas Oil carry C3/A5/B5 specification and will not block a DPF. Why risk your car by using the wrong specification oil?
