Lucas Oil Returns to Rallycross for 2022

Tony Lynch

(24th March, 2022) –

Tony Lynch will race his Lucas Oil-sponsored Landsail Team Geriatric Toyota MR2 in the opening meeting of the new British Trials and Rally Drivers Association (BTRDA) Clubmans Rallycross Championship at Blyton, Yorkshire this weekend (27 March 2022). It’s an early test ahead of the team’s challenge for the Retro Rallycross Championship, a new event that gets underway at Lydden Hill in Kent, next month.

The rebuilt car runs on Lucas Oil’s 20w50 oil, which has been reinforced with the Lucas Oil Heavy Duty Engine Oil Stabilizer additive. The additive is needed because of the extreme racing conditions. It gives the engine extra protection throughout the season, reduces wear and maintenance, while providing added consistency of performance around the circuit.

Lubrication for the gearbox is provided by Lucas Oil’s 75x90 synthetic oil. The team will also use a range of other products from the Lucas Oil range to boost its Championship prospects and to increase its trackside profile. They include Brake Cleaner, to help with wheel maintenance and Slick Mist, a polish that delivers a dealership’s forecourt shine to a raceday car.

“Tony is one of our most talented drivers and one of the BTRDA’s most consistently successful performers. The team is a perfect showcase for the Lucas Oil brand and we are looking forward to another series of terrific results,” says Dan Morgan, director of sales and operations at Lucas Oil Products (UK).
