Double Points Finish for Lucas Oil’s F2 Drivers

Lucas Oil’s two F2-sponsored drivers were in the points for the Feature Race, at the latest meeting in Austria last weekend.

Racing the #17 car in Red Bull Junior colours, Ayumu Iwasa (Japan) finished 7^th. Roy Nissany (Israel), racing the #16 car in DAMS colours, finished two places behind him in 9^th place. The drivers had to master challenging weather conditions, with some safety car driving, too. On a drying track, the choice of tyres played a major part in the final placings.

As neither driver collected points in the Sprint Race, the French-based DAMS Team had to be content with a total of 8 points haul for the weekend.

“At the halfway stage, Iwasa is lying 13^th in the Driver’s Championship, while Nissany is placed 17^th” says Dan Morgan, sales and operations director of Lucas Oil Products (UK). “The team is currently back in 8^th place, but there will be opportunities to move up in the standings during the second half of the season.”

The next round is at Le Castlellet, in France, from 22-24 July 2022.
