 Driver Biography

Born in the UK and lived here all my life, although a dedicated 1960's American Car enthusiast from an early age. I acquired my first car as a teenager, and raced it extensively at Run What You Brung events in the 1980's, retiring from the track in 1990 in order to take care of a mixture of family and small business commitments. I missed it so much, I came back to it all in 2010, hav-ing imported the car here the year before. I have never enjoyed racing on a circuit very much, and the street isnt what it used to be, so huge improvements in professionalism at both our primary UK drag racing venues over the 20 odd years I wasnt here, now bring me back to the track as often as time and money allow me to. Long may it continue!

We are a family team, consisting of myself, wife Fiona and daughter Rachel. We have been racing 'Bubba' the 1968 Camaro in the UK championship since I imported the car from the USA in 2009. We try to make it to as many UK rounds of the National Championship as time and finances allow, and visit both Santa Pod Raceway and Shakespeare County Raceway during the course of the season. The car is an original 1st Generation Camaro, weighing in at 3350lbs, still with original dashboard, head-liner, carpet, and wind up windows. It has been a Pro-Street car since 1982, and a race-car since not long after that. It’s a nor-mally aspirated/pump fuel set up, netting a best time of 9.01 @150mph to date. The limit of our class (PRO-ET) is 9.00, so it’s one of the faster cars in the class, although in order to maintain consistency, a little detuned in current format.

 CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Winning 3 events during the 7 years and winning the Shakespeare/APIRA championship in 2015, which was our most successful season to date. Entering Hot Rod drag week also in 2015 in our 'back up' car, a fully street legal '67 Camaro
